Build Windows is Microsoft’s annual developer conference in Seattle, Washington. To announce the 2012 edition of the event, we worked with them to build a responsive webpage that is based on their typography-driven design principles.
In collaboration with Microsoft’s Nishant Kothary, we designed, prototyped, and built the majority of the site in the browser so that we could ensure the site hierarchy & layout was ideal at any screen size.
Referencing Windows 8 tiles and interactions, we peppered the page with subtle animations. You’ll notice application tiles slide in, logos pop onto the page, and a countdown flag slides up from the cityscape.
It was a thrill to be a part of a high-impact conference at such an exciting time for Microsoft. We were even more thrilled to hear that they sold out in a record 53 minutes.
