The Knitting Nest
"Yarn never had it so hip. When the Knitting Nest set up shop in South Austin, its bright, colorful new digs were welcomed by local crafters and newbies alike. It offers classes and personal instruction, a knitting lounge, and a friendly, personable staff. Carrying the largest supply of Cascade Yarns in the Southwest United States, employing world-class knitters, and sporting — let’s face it — one of the cutest Westies in all of Austin as its mascot, this place has set itself up to be one of our faves for years to come."

Building a brand from Scratch
It’s exciting to work with a new business. Pair a blank design slate with a trusting client and the possibilities are endless. Upon the discovery of a rather large knitting community both in Central Texas and online, we set out to establish a strong, unique visual identity for The Knitting Nest. The bird & knitting needles logo was drawn in a casual, crafty style that is true both to the knitting community and the city of Austin.
Phase Two
Once The Knitting Nest brand was established, we dove into apparel, signage, collateral and their online presence. For The Knitting Nest website, our objectives were to showcase the welcoming community of their South Austin location and highlight the shop’s expansive inventory.
Continued Success
We got a call from Stacy at The Knitting Nest in late Dec to let us know that they had been voted the Austin Chronicle’s Best New Businesses of 2008.
